Give [It] Air!
BEFORE/AFTER

BEFORE/AFTER

DISCLAIMER: Typically, we will be sharing work and progress from our clients’ homes. However, we thought we would kick off the blog by sharing Josh and Amanda (of RSW Building)’s experience in transforming their first house with good bones to a home they love!

So good.

So good.

“Have you seen the movie, The Sandlot ? In our family, it is considered one of the greatest movies of all time. There is a scene where protagonist Scotty Smalls loses his stepfather’s beloved baseball signed by Babe Ruth, before realizing the ball’s worth. After his new friends enlighten him on the enormity of his screw-up, Scotty drops to his knees, looking ill while holding his stomach, saying “I don’t feel so good…” His buddies move closer, each fanning Scotty with his baseball cap, encouraging each other to “Give him air!”

Well, our kitchen transformation wasn’t *that* dramatic. However, I do remember seeing that space for the first time and thinking, “It needs some air!

We dreamed of our kitchen being an extension of the living room - a space where you could prep a meal and not feel as though you were missing out on the rest of the party. After taking the room completely down to its studs and cutting out a half-wall, our kitchen dream became a reality. Our kitchen had finally gotten its air!

Light not only filled the kitchen, but the adjoined living room as well. It was an entirely new living area. We had a blast choosing each detail that would make the space ours. After deciding which cabinets, countertops, handles, appliances, pull-out drawers, and many wonderful organizational trips to IKEA later, our kitchen was finished. We are extremely pleased with the results!”

Did you know the first French fries weren't actually cooked in France?

They were cooked in Greece.
